Default feeling down what to do

I just got out of a relationship and now i have been feeling really down. I had a friend say that he would help me but he is so busy so when i call him he doesnt answer. I dont have any friends cause i push them away and worked alot of hours. I took a vacation i told my friends i was on vacation but no one called me. I just feel lonely and i scared to go out by myself. And all i did today was cry the whole day. I dont want to bother my family cause they dont understand. I try talking with my mom but it doesnt help and she will bring u things like her job and compare them to my situation but they are never the same. I have heard three people tell me they care about me but they arent there for me. I just want to help myself but i scared that i cant. I feel like i will be depressed forever.

those people who told you they care about you- they probably really do. could be they're busy- so reach out to them. contact them first. write to them. ask when's a good time to talk. they will be there for you. also, just try to get out a little, relax, take your mind off the stress once in a while.

I am curious if any of you have been professionally diagnosed with depression for the first time during the past six months? Romantic couples are needed for a study about depression within relationships.

Each partner will earn a $15 Target or Walmart Card (your choice) by completing a 30 to 45 minute online questionnaire.

To sign up, send an email to romantic.relationship.research@gmail.com with (1) your name, (2) your email address, (3) your partner’s name, (4) your partner’s email address, and (5) the date of first-time professional depression diagnosis.

Questions? Email Dr. Leanne Knobloch, University of Illinois (knobl@illinois.edu).

Thanks!
