((((((((((Millie))))))))) unfortunately there is nothing much. All the beurocracy (sp) lets the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and ppl like you and me that help others in any way we can are not helped. It's sad that this "great nation" we live in doesn't do more to help it's own. I can give ya a brand new bucket of endless hugs that I just found if you want it. No charge and you will always know I am here for you. And I am so glad to see you around!! Hugs sweetie.

Find a foster parent advocate in your area and ask them to help you petition the state for more. Here in CO, there is a huge network of advocates who work with and train foster parents. I used to work for a lawyer who did the training of foster parents and one of the sessions is on financial assistance.

If it is a different kind of stiped (like Social Security), a lawyer will usually consult for free and work with you on getting more money.

Check with your local legal aid office for resources too!!!!!!!

You must be vocal and persistent, because they don't give in easily!!!

Good luck..and keep us informed!

Our grandson lived wth for approximately, heck, most of his life. When he got his first job we charged him rent. Actually we took the utilities and divided them three ways.

The one thing that really hurt our budget was his appetite. He hit his teens and he got that old hollow leg syndrome. We will never regret taking him in because the alternative was a good way to go.

He has now turned into a pita, is 26 years old and thinks he knows it all. I hope he gets married and has kids ahahahahahahah

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KK!! I think EVERY PARENT hopes that for their kids at one point or another.. LOL!!!

Felicia is 16 this year and has her first job. She's working at my office doing data entry. Her father thinks she should pay for her school fees and books (so he doesn't have to! -- and he lives in CA and we live in CO... and he has that syndrome where everything was harder for him as a kid...even though I was THERE and know better!) ...I on the other hand have made a deal with her..she's paying for her own cell phone (she bought the phone and is paying for the monthly service), saving 1/2 her check to buy a car eventually..., and she budgets out the rest. She's got plans for the next chunk of spending money...and then she's buying her own school clothes, and extras that she wants (like music, movies, electronics, etc.)
