Default A Boy in a house of women...

Poor kid. He turns 15 today. His father lives in CA, we live in CO. His father has seen him ONCE in the past 7 1/2 years. and that was in March. So....he grew up without that close bond.

He is a boy ... in a house with two females. He is totally overwhelmed by our female hormones.

Anyway... last night... i found a penthouse magazine in his room....sigh. Now, mind you... i know he's a boy..and i know it's a normal curiosity and totally normal thing for anyone boy or girl to masturbate. BUT.... I don't approve of the penthouse magazine. So, I told him I had found the magazine, and that while masturbating was a totally normal thing to do, I didn't approve of that magazine for him...and that I was going to throw it away. I did it matter of factly, and hopefully in a way that didn't embarass him too much...but... i know he felt akward .... poor kid.

Any advice on follow up??

You done good PBS. I agree Penthouse is not a good magazine for anyone.

You know he is going to look at that type of magazine, but you can forbid them in your home.

You might also tell him those pictures do not depict normal people. Well they certainly don't depict anyone I know.

why are you so against penthouse, it's a magazine as any other, i know a lot of people that have it and ...well i think it's pretty normal and better to have that at home than learn from some stranger..

At the age of 15 PBS's son has already learned from others. Penthouse is IMHO more on the hard core side. If he wants to look at pretty women and read good articles
there is Playboy.

My 14 year old grandson ordered x rated movie from cable. He didn't realize it would show up on the bill. His step father told him to let him know when he wanted to see another x rated movie so they could watch it together. Knowing my son-in-law as I do he will point out the true parts and the fantasy.

As John Wayne said,.... and I haven't done this much explaining in a long time.
