Post In Memory Of....

July 12, 2008

Dear Dad,

Happy Birthday. Seems like it was just yesterday that you were here filling our lives with laughter and happiness. You were always there for me when I needed you, even in the times when you warned me about something and I didn't listen. My heart cries for you today because even though you are with mom, you should be here with us and your grandkids. They miss you so badly and cry so much for you, even on the average day. Chad, your sparkle in your eyes, needs his grandpa so badly. You always took away his fears and made him feel safe. I try with all my heart to fill your shoes but they will never fit me. You were a kind and gentle man and loved so much by your family. You took Lisa's kids into your heart as if they were your own grandkids and gave them as much love as your blood ones. What I would give to have just 5 more minutes with you. I know you left us the way you always wanted to, alone and not for us to see you in pain. But I will never stop crying over you because you are the greatest loss I have ever suffered. I miss you with all my heart. One day, I will be with you and mom and Joe again to see your smiling faces. It will be then that my soul is at peace.

Missing you today and always,
Your son, Kevin :'(

(((((((( Kevin ))))))),
More than ever I do understand your pain & loss. We tend to feel that loss even more when things are going crazy in our lives. Bless you & your family.

Kevin, this will probably sound weird, but I wish I could have had that kind of relationship with one of my parents. Unfortunately that was not to be. You were very lucky.
